Pellegrini had this wrong.
Zab and Noble should of been rested.
Now both will have to be against the Saints

This is gonna be a tough match and i wouldn´t be at all surprised if they turned us over!!..they´re a good team and have been unlucky to lose some matches this season!!!.. Our defence needs to be switched on otherwise they could score a hatful!!

Re: WHU team Vs Watford?
Bigger test this one. I would bring Cresswell back in for Arthur maybe but otherwise that side looks abut right.

I think against Fulham, after a shaky start and having gone 2 up we were just trying to sit back on our lead and manage the game and see it out. They came at us and had some half chances didn’t truly look like threatening our lead. I think we cannot take that approach against Watford and we need to press them more.

Sounds like Perez is fit but I would think Antonio will keep his place. Perez to push Silva off the bench.

Whoever plays, I'm still trying to get used to the idea of looking forward to watching us play.

Hard to argue with Eddie’s team. Picks itself really.

This one could go either way, I think. Both us and Watford have shown we are capable of some great results and some absolute stinkers this season. Hope it’s them who have the stinker on Saturday. Five in a row would be superb for us.

I think that you lot are giving this Watford side a lot more credit than they merit, fast, quick a handful, really. (fingers crossed this one doesn't come back smack me in the chops).

In their last 6 games they have managed one win against Cardiff 3-2, very fucking scary I don't think. Play the same way and let Balbuena smash that flat track bully Deeny all over the place, and as for the rest of the Watford team, meh.

Anderson to rip them a new one and if they double up on him then that leaves space for others to get in amongst a very ordinary Watford side. 3 points for the taking, I fancy Mr Carroll to come on and get his first of the season to wrap up a comfortable 3-1 win

While Antonio has been better, I don’t think he’s been good enough to justify playing him by himself.

Resting Noble seems the best possible change for me.

Re: WHU team Vs Watford?
Think you go unchanged wherever possible,

Maybe Cresswell in for Arfur as he is more solid defensively.

Just have to assess if Zab, Noble, Snoddy need a break and if any of them need to rest their legs.

Lab,

We wasn't poor, we just played well within ourselves.

But, problem with playing within ourselves is, you run the risk of giving a goal away. You see the top teams play within themselves all the time.

Absolutely agree. Well, other than the part about Cresswell. He seems to have become a superior defender by not playing. He's not. He's shite.

Along the same lines, but think I'd have Snodgrass in Diangana's position and Obiang in the midfield 3.

Also Cresswell over Arthur for this one up against Pereya (or however you spell his name).

Re: WHU team Vs Watford?
Watford are quick and strong in midfield and attack.
We will have to match them.
Noble and Zab will have to be rested for this or the Southampton game. Southampton are going to be lifted by their good win against Arsenal. Ings and Austin looked particularly good, but they will have a more winnable/important game against Huddersfield next.
Think we can rest Noble for Watford and play him against Southampton.
We should keep Antonio up front with his goals coming at an apt time.
Obiang for Noble otherwise keep it as is.
Carroll can have another 20-25 or so.
Diangana may have to come on earlier for Snoody .

Re: WHU team Vs Watford?
Yep. Earlier in the season I really thought Antonio was looking like a busted flush, but hats off to him - he has clearly got his head down and worked really hard. Not quite back to his best but he's getting there and deserves to keep his place in the side.

diehardhammer 11:59 Mon Dec 17
Re: WHU team Vs Watford?
Given watford's strong pace in midfield id like us to revert to a 4 5 1 with either noble/snoddy pushing up behind the striker to support

with Diangana back in to help zaba down the right hand side to try and contain defoulou/Peraya better

Id like to start with antonio run their defence ragged then bring on pea for the second half hopefully grab a goal

--------------------------- Fab ------------------------------
Zab -------- General --- Diop ------------- Arthur
----------- Rice -----Noble -----Snodgrass ----------
Diangana ------------------------------- Anderson
----------------------- Antonio --------------------

Thought Antonio did pretty well against Fulham, and probably offers more of a threat than Perez. Also pleased to have noted that he has dropped his mind bendingly naff goal celebration.
